Pride Health is hiring an Ophthalmic Technician to support our client’s medical facility based in New York, NY 10011. This is a 08-week assignment with a contract-to-hire opportunity and a great way to start working with a top-tier healthcare organization!
Job Title: Ophthalmic Technician
Location: New York, NY 10011
Hourly W2 pay: $37.00/hr - $42.00/hr
Schedule: 8 AM - 4 PM
Start date: 05/25/2026
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct vision and eye exams (visual fields, color vision, pupil tests, intraocular pressure/tonometry)
Gather patient history and prepare charts for physician review
Manage patient flow and coordinate tests, imaging, and procedures
Educate patients and families about procedures and treatments
Maintain and calibrate ophthalmic equipment (slit lamps, keratometers, tonometers, etc.)
Prepare and sterilize instruments; assist in minor surgeries, laser treatments, and OR procedures
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent
Ophthalmic Technician certification (required)
Strong communication and organizational skills
