Pride Health is seeking a dedicated Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our team at Bridgeport, CT.
Job Summary
In this role, you will perform a variety of routine and specialized nuclear radiology procedures under the direction of licensed independent practitioners, ensuring accurate diagnostic imaging and excellent patient care. You will serve as a liaison between patients, radiologists, and support staff while maintaining strict adherence to safety and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnostic Procedures:
- Perform routine and specialized nuclear radiology procedures (including contrast agent administration) following established protocols.
- Independently scan patients using established protocols to obtain high-quality images.
- Patient Care:
- Confirm patient identity using approved identifiers.
- Demonstrate age-appropriate care, ensuring patient comfort, privacy, and safety during procedures.
- Verify patient’s pregnancy and informed consent statuses.
- Quality Control & Equipment Handling:
- Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot nuclear radiology equipment (including automated processors, digitizing film equipment, R.I.S., and PACS).
- Perform routine quality control checks and ensure compliance with state, federal, and organizational safety regulations (e.g., MQSA, ACR).
- Data & Documentation:
- Accurately document patient information, test results, and procedure details.
- Manage digital records in PACS and other systems.
- Collaboration & Communication:
- Serve as a liaison between patients, radiologists, and technical staff.
- Communicate effectively with team members to ensure timely and accurate testing.
- Additional Duties:
- Assist in technical orientation and training of cross-trained Radiologic Technologists.
- Adapt procedures as needed based on patient condition and technical requirements.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Nuclear Medicine Technologist program.
- Completed all clinical competencies and classroom training.
- Certified by one of the following:
- CNMT (NMTCB)(CT)
- R.T.(N)(CT)(ARRT)
- RTRCT
OR
- Certified as:
- CNMT (NMTCB) or R.T.(N)(ARRT)
- Must obtain a CT Advanced Certification (ARRT, NMTCB, or RTRCT) within 1 year of hire (supported by our CT training pathway).
Preferred Experience:
- 1–2 years of experience as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist.
- PET/CT and/or SPECT/CT experience strongly preferred.
Additional Information:
- Location: Bridgeport, CT 06606
- Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM/ 40 hours per week
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Pay Rate: $66 - $73/hour
