Medical Surgical Nurse

Job Title: RN Med Surg

Location: Clovis, New Mexico, 88101

Contract duration: 13 weeks

Shift:3X12 -hours

Schedule: Days and Nights Available

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct patient care using the nursing process—assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care for an assigned group of patients.
• Deliver care that is safe, effective, timely, and equitable, ensuring patient needs are met throughout the episode of care.
• Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders or established protocols, documenting accurately per policy.
• Coordinate patient care in collaboration with physicians, interdisciplinary teams, and family members.
• Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans, discharge instructions, and health maintenance.
• Document all care provided and patient responses in the EMR in compliance with facility and regulatory standards.
• Supervise and delegate tasks appropriately to LPNs and unlicensed assistive personnel.
• Maintain competency in population- and procedure-specific skills, completing all required education and annual competency assessments.
• Participate in unit-based quality improvement initiatives and maintain compliance with all safety and infection control standards.
• Support the team by floating to other units or nearby locations as needed to meet patient care demands.

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of recent experience in a Medical-Surgical setting.

Preferred:

• EPIC EMR experience
• Must have completed at least one (1) 13-week travel assignment.
• Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Strong communication and critical-thinking skills.
