Location- New York New York10029
Pay- $20 to $21/hr
Shift- 8:00A - 4:00 pm Monday to Friday

Job Summary
Provides secretarial and clinical support to physicians and advanced healthcare providers in an outpatient practice setting.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Schedule patient appointments as needed.
- Take detailed clinical phone messages for physicians or advanced healthcare providers.
- Obtain insurance authorizations for procedures and diagnostic tests.
- Enter orders into the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system and prepare prescription refill requests for physician review and approval.
- Maintain tracking logs for test results and follow-up activities.
- Assist with maintaining medical charts and electronic medical records, including filing reports, test results, and patient forms.
- Coordinate surgeries and procedures, including scheduling, preparing charts, pre-admission documentation, and consent forms.
- Perform Medical Assistant duties when qualified, including:
- Venipuncture and EKGs
- Preparing exam rooms
- Organizing patient flow
- Assisting patients with walking, transferring, and dressing
- Collecting and processing specimens
- Performing point-of-care testing
- Taking vital signs
- Assisting providers during procedures
- Relaying instructions to patients and families
- Answer patient calls and provide appropriate information.
- Retrieve and edit physician correspondence from dictation services.
- Prepare physician correspondence and mailings.
- Function as a medical scribe when required.
- Compile documentation for surgical billing packages.
- Maintain, adjust, and confirm patient schedules.
- Help direct patient flow during office hours.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of related healthcare experience.
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA/CCMA) required if performing Medical Assistant duties.
- Proficiency in medical terminology and HIPAA regulations.
- Knowledge of Electronic Medical Records (EMR) and/or medical billing systems preferred.

Education
- Associate Degree preferred; OR
- High School Diploma/GED with a minimum of two years of related experience.
