Pride Health is hiring for a permanent Laboratory Supervisor / Laboratory Operations Manager to lead and support daily operations of a laboratory in Charlotte, NC, 28208. Job Summary
This leadership role is responsible for overseeing laboratory operations within a designated clinical testing discipline while ensuring high-quality patient care, regulatory compliance, operational excellence, and staff development. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in Chemistry, Hematology, Coagulation, Urinalysis, and Immunodiagnostics along with proven laboratory leadership experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Laboratory Operations
- Oversee daily operations within an assigned Core Laboratory discipline.
- Ensure accurate, timely, and reliable laboratory testing.
- Maintain competency in all laboratory testing systems and workflows.
- Serve as the department subject matter expert and competency assessor.
- Optimize laboratory resources, staffing, workflow, and operational efficiency.
- Monitor quality indicators and implement process improvement initiatives.
Leadership & Staff Management
- Lead, coach, mentor, and develop laboratory personnel.
- Manage staffing, scheduling, performance evaluations, and employee engagement.
- Set performance expectations and provide ongoing coaching and feedback.
- Participate in hiring, promotions, disciplinary actions, and compensation recommendations.
- Foster teamwork and a culture of continuous improvement.
Quality & Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure compliance with:
- CLIA, CAP, OSHA, FDA
- The Joint Commission (TJC)
- Federal, State, and Local regulations
- Maintain continuous inspection readiness.
- Develop and implement quality improvement initiatives.
- Ensure laboratory policies and procedures meet accreditation standards.
Collaboration
- Partner with pathologists, laboratory leadership, physicians, and hospital administration.
- Support enterprise-wide laboratory initiatives.
- Promote excellent customer service across all departments.
- Maintain effective communication with internal and external stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, or equivalent.
- Current ASCP Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) or Medical Technologist (MT) certification (or specialty certification appropriate to the department).
- Minimum 3 years of technical laboratory operations experience.
- Strong laboratory leadership experience (Lead Tech, Team Lead, Supervisor, or Manager).
