Laboratory Assistant

Pride Health is hiring a Lab Assistant to support our client’s medical facility based in Irving TX 75063. This is a 3-4-month assignment (Possibility of extension or conversion) opportunity and a great way to start working with a top-tier healthcare organization!

Position Name: Technical Lab - Lab Assistant

Pay rate: $19/hr -$20/hr

Location: Irving, TX 75063

Duration: 4-months contract with possible extension

Shift: 1AM-9:30AM Tuesday -Saturday

Job Description:

Job Summary:

The Lab Assistant is responsible for performing various routine laboratory functions with precision and accuracy to support laboratory professionals and ensure efficient production.

Key Responsibilities:

• Sort and receive specimens in the department.
• Prepare specimens at workstations for testing, including:
• Building worklists and aliquoting specimens.
• Checking for clots and fibrin in specimens.
• Inoculation and slide preparation.
• Perform routine instrument maintenance on some lab equipment.
• Prepare reagents and media as needed.
• Conduct weekly radioactive wipe tests.
• Change gas cylinders as required.
• Quality Assurance & Safety Compliance:
• Resolve pending lists and locate missing samples.
• Decontaminate work areas and dispose of biohazardous materials.
• Follow all PPE requirements and adhere to safety regulations.
• Maintain department records and files.
• Record data, including temperature charts.
• Utilize the laboratory computer system and PCs for lab operations.
• Complete training and competency checklists as required.
