π§ Responsibilities
Patient Care
- Provide safe, evidence-based nursing care using a relationship-centered approach.
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate comprehensive care for critically ill patients.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
- Educate patients and families on treatment, recovery, and health management.
- Manage care delivery effectively within a modified primary nursing model.
Patient Experience
- Build therapeutic relationships with patients and families.
- Conduct bedside shift reports and purposeful hourly rounding.
- Communicate compassionately and initiate service recovery when needed.
Quality & Safety
- Demonstrate excellence in critical care skills and patient safety practices.
- Participate in continuous quality improvement and peer review activities.
- Document accurately per hospital and regulatory standards.
Operations
- May serve as charge nurse when assigned.
- Ensure efficient use of staff, equipment, and supplies.
- Support patient flow and collaboration across units.
Professional Development
- Maintain a professional, ethical, and learning-oriented approach.
- Participate in shared governance, committees, and clinical education activities.
- Mentor peers and contribute to ongoing quality initiatives.
π― Requirements
- Active NYS RN License
- BLS & ACLS certifications (required)
- Minimum 2 years of recent ICU or Critical Care/Telemetry experience
- EPIC experience highly preferred
- Travel experience preferred but not required
- Education:
- BSN preferred
- ASN accepted with relevant experience or active enrollment in a BSN program
