We are seeking a dedicated ICU Registered Nurse (RN) to provide high-quality, patient-centered care to critically ill patients in a fast-paced intensive care setting. The ideal candidate will have strong critical care experience, be proficient in conscious sedation, IV insertion, and phlebotomy, and collaborate effectively with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill patients in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
- Assess, monitor, and document patient conditions while responding promptly to changes in clinical status.
- Administer medications, treatments, and therapies in accordance with physician orders and nursing standards.
- Perform IV insertion, phlebotomy, and assist with conscious sedation procedures.
- Monitor patients before, during, and after procedures requiring sedation.
- Collaborate with physicians and the multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Maintain accurate electronic medical records and ensure compliance with hospital policies and patient safety standards.
- Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans and recovery expectations.
Qualifications
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ASN/ADN) from an accredited nursing program required.
- Minimum two (2) years of Critical Care/ICU experience required.
- Minimum two (2) years of Conscious Sedation experience required.
- Minimum two (2) years of IV Insertion and Phlebotomy experience required.
- Active New York State Registered Nurse (RN) License required.
- Primary Source Verification of RN License and Registration through NYS Department of Education (NYSED) required.
- AHA BLS certification required.
- AHA ACLS certification required.
- Excellent critical thinking, communication, and patient assessment skills.
Important Details:
- 14-week contract position (possible extensions)
- Shift is 11.5 hrs/night (7:30 PM-8:00 AM), 34.5 hrs/week
- Location is Brooklyn, NY 11235
- Pay Rate for Locals: $60 - $65 Hourly
- Pay Rate for Travelers: $2,500 - $2,550 Weekly
