We’re currently seeking an experienced Executive Director – Emergency Services & Nursing Operations to join a leading healthcare organization in Des Moines, Iowa.

This is a full-time, permanent leadership opportunity for a nursing executive with strong experience in emergency services, hospital operations, and leading high-performing teams.

💰 Compensation & Relocation

Salary: Up to $210,000 annually

Relocation Assistance: Up to $10,000

Employment Type: Full-Time | Permanent

🏥 The Opportunity

The Executive Director will provide strategic and operational leadership across Emergency Services and Nursing Operations, supporting multiple hospital campuses and working closely with physicians, nursing leaders, service lines, and community partners.

Key areas of responsibility include:

• Leading Emergency Services and Nursing Operations across multiple campuses
• Developing and managing departmental budgets and resources
• Driving quality, patient safety, and patient experience initiatives
• Leading staffing, workforce planning, and leadership development
• Improving patient flow and coordination of care
• Ensuring regulatory and specialty-designation compliance
• Using outcomes data and evidence-based practices to improve care delivery
• Partnering with physicians and other service-line leaders
• Mentoring current and emerging nursing leaders
• Supporting strategic planning and organizational growth

💼 What We're Looking For

• Experienced nursing executive/leader with progressive leadership experience
• Strong background in Emergency Services / Emergency Department operations
• Experience leading nursing operations in a hospital or health-system environment
• Demonstrated experience with budgets, staffing, quality, safety, and performance improvement
• Strong physician and cross-functional collaboration skills
• Experience leading teams across multiple departments, campuses, or facilities
• Strong understanding of regulatory and healthcare operational requirements
• RN with appropriate advanced nursing/leadership education and credentials preferred
