Contract: 13 Weeks with strong possibility of extension
Schedule: Monday–Friday 8:30 AM-4:30 PM
Guaranteed Hours per Week: 37.50
Pay Range: $1,100 - $1,300 per week
Job Summary
Pride Health is seeking a skilled Dental Assistant for a contract opportunity in New York, NY. This role will support dental providers in delivering quality patient care by assisting with examinations and treatments, preparing patients, maintaining equipment, sterilizing instruments, taking dental radiographs, and performing administrative and laboratory duties. The ideal candidate will have hands-on dental assisting experience and a strong understanding of infection control and dental office procedures.
Responsibilities
• Prepare patients for dental examinations and treatment procedures.
• Assist dentists chairside during examinations and dental procedures.
• Sterilize and maintain dental instruments and equipment using proper infection control procedures.
• Take, develop, and mount dental radiographs.
• Mix dental materials including amalgams, cements, and composites.
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.
• Perform assigned laboratory procedures as needed.
• Ensure treatment rooms are properly stocked and prepared for patient care.
• Follow all safety, infection control, and regulatory standards.
• Provide excellent patient service and support throughout the treatment process.
Requirements
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Completion of an approved Dental Assistant training program consisting of at least 600 instructional hours; OR
• Completion of at least 300 instructional hours plus six (6) months of full-time Dental Assistant experience; OR
• One (1) year of full-time Dental Assistant experience performing:
- Dental radiographs
- Chairside assisting
- Instrument sterilization using an autoclave
- Knowledge of dental terminology, infection control practices, and dental procedures.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience in a hospital, dental clinic, or academic dental setting.
• Experience with digital dental radiography systems.
• Familiarity with dental electronic health records and practice management systems.
• Additional certifications related to dental assisting.
