Clinical Documentation Specialist (RN)

Job Title: Registered Nurse – Clinical Documentation Specialist

Location: Remote

Primary Office Address: Livingston, New Jersey

Contract Duration: 06/01/2026 – 07/25/2026 (Extendable)

Pay Rate: $58 - $62/hr

Requirements:

• Active NJ RN License or Compact RN License required at the time of submission
• Minimum 5 years of nursing experience
• Current Clinical Documentation Specialist experience required
• Critical Care experience required
• Experience with EPIC CDI and Solventum encoder software is mandatory
• Advanced understanding of anatomy, physiology, pathophysiology, and pharmacology
• Preferred background in adult acute care including Med Surg, Critical Care, Emergency, or PACU
• CCDS Certification preferred
• Must pass a Clinical Competency Exam via Zoom prior to interview

Job Description:

The Clinical Documentation Specialist will serve as a liaison between the Chief Medical Officer, Health Information Management Department, Inpatient Coders, Quality Officers, Coding Management, and Physicians to ensure accurate and complete clinical documentation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review clinical documentation for accuracy, completeness, and compliance
• Collaborate with physicians and healthcare teams to improve documentation quality
• Support coding accuracy and severity/risk adjustment initiatives
• Ensure documentation reflects appropriate clinical indicators and treatment plans
• Utilize EPIC CDI and Solventum encoder software effectively
