Job Summary
The Senior Business Intelligence Developer is responsible for designing, developing, and delivering data-driven reporting solutions that support clinical, financial, operational, and executive decision-making across the organization.
This role involves extracting, analyzing, and transforming complex healthcare data into actionable insights through reports, dashboards, data models, and automated tools. The position requires strong collaboration with business leaders, clinicians, finance teams, and regulatory stakeholders to support strategic initiatives and improve organizational performance.
The candidate must work independently, manage multiple priorities, and deliver high-quality analytics solutions with minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain reports, dashboards, metrics, data models, data marts, and analytical tools
- Extract, transform, and analyze healthcare and business data from internal and external systems
- Support Value-Based Care, Population Health, Revenue Cycle, and Clinical Analytics initiatives
- Work closely with business leaders to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions
- Build automated reporting solutions for financial, clinical, and operational data
- Create and maintain curated datasets, cubes, and semantic layers for end users
- Support revenue cycle analytics including billing, claims, payments, and adjustments
- Collaborate with stakeholders across departments including executives and physicians
- Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and compliance with organizational standards
- Maintain documentation, code repositories, and development processes
- Adapt quickly to changing business needs and deliver under tight deadlines
Required Skills & Experience
- 3–5 years experience in healthcare or business analytics environment
- Expert-level SQL skills (data extraction, dataset building, reporting)
- Advanced Excel expertise
- Strong experience in report building and BI development
- Experience with relational databases and data modeling
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, McKesson, etc.)
- Knowledge of BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, Cognos, Looker, SSRS, Qlik, etc.)
- Understanding of data warehouses, dimensional modeling, and data marts
- Familiarity with source control (TFS, Git, branching, merging, etc.)
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to translate complex data into business insights
Preferred Skills
- Knowledge of Epic data structures
- Exposure to statistical or machine learning concepts
- Experience with healthcare analytics (Revenue Cycle, Population Health, Value-Based Care)
- Experience with semantic layer or cube development
- Familiarity with multiple BI platforms and ETL concepts
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Healthcare, Engineering, Mathematics/Statistics, Business, or related field
