Pride Health is hiring an Accessioner to support our client’s medical facility in Shelton
CT 06484 . This is a 3-month assignment with the possibility of a contract-to-hire opportunity, and it's a great way to start working with a top-tier healthcare organization!


Job Title: Accessioner

Location: Shelton, CT 06484

Duration: 3 Months

Pay rate: $17- $19 per hour (40 hr/week)

Schedule: 4am to 12:30 pm Tuesday- Saturday

*The salary is determined by an individual's level of experience, as well as any relevant licenses and certifications they may hold.


Summary:

The main function of an accessioner is responsible for processing laboratory samples. They work with other laboratory employees to catalog patient specimens, like blood, urine, or tissue, for analysis. They mostly work with blood. Lab professionals carry out diagnosis and treatment based on the samples received.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Accession incoming specimens and route specimens to the appropriate laboratory or send them out to the appropriate satellite facility.
  • Prepare specimens for the laboratory prior to laboratory processing/testing, including sorting and labelling specimens and accompanying paperwork.
  • Data enter specimen, patient, and client information from specimen requisitions into the laboratory database.
  • Identify, alert, and hold specimens with incomplete processing information until resolved.
  • Verify requisitions are entered correctly into the database.
  • Scan, copy, and file specimen paperwork.
  • Perform other duties such as preparing labels and forms for the accessioning process.
