Warehouse Associate
Pay Rate: $18.00/hr
Contract Length: 6 weeks
Schedule: Monday–Friday,
Work Environment: Packing Department
Onsite: Dothan, AL
Position Summary
The Warehouse Associate I supports daily distribution operations, including receiving, order picking, packing, shipping, and inventory control. This role involves labor-intensive tasks such as moving totes, handling UPS pallets, and replenishing ice trays (approximately 25 lbs. each). The associate works in a fast-paced environment to ensure accuracy, safety, and efficient order processing.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
Perform receiving, picking, returns, shipping, and inventory tasks.
Support stocking, replenishment, and order fulfillment, including work in refrigerated environments.
Verify incoming merchandise, inspect for defects, and report discrepancies.
Stock shelves and organize materials in designated locations.
Use radio-frequency (RF) devices for picking when required.
Assemble customer orders, pull items from shelves, place in totes for packing/shipping, and follow quantity/specification requirements.
Enter orders, returns, and related information into computer systems.
Inspect and process returned items; restock merchandise appropriately.
Complete daily inventory counts and investigate discrepancies.
Assist with full inventory procedures as assigned.
Comply with all safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
Minimum Skills, Knowledge & Abilities
Ability to read and understand English for product descriptions and labels.
Basic math skills.
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work cooperatively with others.
Strong organizational and detail-orientation skills.
Maintain clean, safe work areas.
Ability to follow detailed instructions and use sound judgment.
Willingness to work overtime and assist during physical inventory.
Basic computer knowledge preferred.
Physical & Mental Requirements
Ability to work accurately in a production-driven environment.
Physical movement including reaching, bending, twisting, kneeling, stooping, lifting, grasping, and repetitive motions.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Visual ability for close, distance, peripheral vision, and focus adjustment.
Must be able to stand and walk for the duration of the shift.
Ability to handle stressful situations as they arise.
Ability to safely use a box cutter.
Ability to work in refrigerated, hot, or cold environments for the entire shift if needed.
