Russell Tobin's client, a multinational manufacturing company, is hiring a Remote Medical Billing SpecialistApply Now!Employment Type: Contract/RemoteLocation: Remote for now, Potential to move on-site in Raleigh/Durham, NC areaDuration: 6 months with possible extensionPay range: $18/hr - $20/hrSchedule: Mon – FriJob Overview:The Medical Claims Biller is responsible for monitoring insurance carrier adjudication of medical claims for one or more doctor practices. This role involves utilizing a practice EHR system and clearing house to review, submit, and manage claims with multiple medical insurance carriers. The biller will proactively review open/unpaid claim balances and take the required action to ensure timely reimbursement.MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:Review medical claims and transmit them to the appropriate insurance carriers using the practice's electronic health records (EHR) system and clearing house.Monitor rejected claim reports, identify errors, and make necessary adjustments for resubmission.Download insurance carrier explanation of payments (EOPs) to accurately post claim payments and denials within the EHR system.Analyze denied claims to determine the root cause and take corrective action for resubmission where possible.Review aging reports to research open balances and ensure claims are resubmitted within insurance carrier filing deadlines.Utilize insurance carrier websites and contact carriers directly via phone to investigate denials and check claim status.Partner with the clearing house to manage the distribution of patient billing statements and monitor payment portals to post patient payments in the EHR system.Initiate overpayment refunds to patients and repayments to insurance carriers as required.Serve as the primary point of contact for the practice regarding all medical claims inquiries.Support management in achieving goals for maximizing the practice's claim collection rate.BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:High school diploma or equivalent.3 years of related work experience in a medical billing role.Proven experience with medical billing and coding procedures.Strong ability to prioritize tasks and handle multiple issues effectively.Excellent organization skills and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.Effective communication skills, including verbal, written, listening, and presentation.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:Experience working in multiple-doctor practices.Experience working with a variety of insurance carriers and a solid understanding of their specific claim requirements.Proven ability to independently identify issues and implement effective solutions.Benefits that Russell Tobin offers:Russell Tobin offers eligible employee’s comprehensive healthcare coverage (medical, dental, and vision plans), supplemental coverage (accident insurance, critical illness insurance and hospital indemnity), a 401(k)-retirement savings, life & disability insurance, an employee assistance program, identity theft protection, legal support, auto and home insurance, pet insurance, and employee discounts with some preferred vendors.#JD-E2EProf2
