Requirements:
- Valid NJ Administrator or Principal Certificate Required (Standard, Provisional, or CE)
- Master's degree in Educational Leadership, Administration, or related field, or Advanced degree in Educational Leadership, Administration, or related field
- Minimum of 4-5 years of successful teaching experience preferred
- Minimum of 4-5 years of successful administrative experience
- Knowledge/experience of middle school best practices
- Knowledge/experience of middle school curriculum and instruction, performance data analysis, educational technology, academic programs and initiatives, intervention strategies, and diverse student learning plans
- Knowledge/experience with middle school master scheduling for students and teachers, operations management, facilities management, planning and executing school events and activities
- Knowledge/experience of middle school behavior management systems, student discipline policies and procedures, HIB Laws and best practices
- Knowledge of charter school structure and laws, NJ statutes, and developing and implementing school policies
- Knowledge/experience effective teaching practices, staff management including recruitment, evaluation and development of school staff and teacher evaluations
- Knowledge of school finance, budgetary practices, and federal and state grant programs
- Knowledge/experience with parent involvement, community collaboration, strategic planning and school improvement plans
- Skills and Competencies in communication, interpersonal skills, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
- Occasional evening and weekend hours required for meetings, events, and school functions
- Commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion in educational settings
Key Performance Responsibilities:
Instructional Leadership: Ensures curriculum aligns with state standards, analyzes data, and oversees professional development.
- Personnel Management: Supervises staff, manages hiring, and conducts evaluations in compliance with NJ law.
- Fiscal/Facility Management: Oversees budget development and ensures school facilities are safe and compliant.
- Board Relations: Acts as a key advisor to the Board of Trustees and represents the district publicly.
- Legal Compliance: Ensures adherence to all NJDOE regulations.
Evaluation:
- Annual review conducted by the Board of Education in accordance with NJ law. Reporting directly to the Board of Trustees
