The ICU RN will be responsible for providing comprehensive care to critically ill patients, collaborating closely with the interdisciplinary team to deliver safe, evidence-based, and compassionate nursing care.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to critically ill patients in the ICU in accordance with established hospital policies and procedures.
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments, develop individualized care plans, and evaluate patient progress.
- Monitor and interpret vital signs, hemodynamic data, cardiac rhythms, and laboratory results.
- Administer medications, manage IV infusions, and operate critical care equipment including ventilators, cardiac monitors, and infusion pumps.
- Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to implement and coordinate patient care.
- Respond rapidly and effectively to emergencies, utilizing ACLS protocols.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in EPIC EMR.
- Provide emotional support and education to patients and families during critical care situations.
- Uphold infection control and patient safety standards at all times.
- Active New York State Registered Nurse (RN) License – in good standing.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications – required.
- Minimum of 2 years of RN experience – required.
- At least 2 years of critical care or telemetry experience – required.
- EPIC EMR experience – highly preferred.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) – preferred.
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) accepted with relevant experience or active enrollment in a BSN program.
- Strong clinical judgment and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to remain calm and effective under pressure.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Commitment to evidence-based and patient-centered care.
- Detail-oriented and highly organized in maintaining patient safety and documentation.
