Job Title: Systems Analyst 3 (Java EE Developer)
Location: Austin, TX (Hybrid – 3 days onsite, 2 days remote; Local candidates only)
Contract Duration: 8 Months
Description of Services:
We are seeking 2 Systems Analyst 3 candidates with strong expertise in Java EE development and application modernization. Candidates should have deep experience analyzing legacy systems, migrating to modern cloud-native platforms, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure business continuity, modularity, security, and interoperability.
Responsibilities
- Analyze legacy Java EE components (EJB, JPA, SOAP services) to support modernization decisions.
- Participate in application rationalization and transformation planning.
- Support technical walkthroughs and document current application behavior, dependencies, and integration points.
- Collaborate with architects and business analysts to retain business logic and interoperability during modernization.
- Assist in migrating legacy systems to cloud-native platforms with microservices and API-driven architectures.
- Utilize AI-based code analysis tools to examine legacy Java EE applications.
- Extract and document business requirements and rules from existing code.
- Work with stakeholders and technical teams to validate requirements.
- Identify and record technical debt, design patterns, and architectural details within legacy systems.
Required Qualifications
- 12 years hands-on experience in Java/Java EE development (EJB, JPA, SOAP services), with ability to analyze legacy codebases for cloud migration.
- 12 years proficiency in Java SE 1.8 and Java EE 8 with deployment on enterprise-grade application servers.
- 12 years experience with object-relational mapping and persistence integration.
- 10 years collaborating with cross-functional teams (architects, analysts, security engineers).
- 8 years experience with AI code analysis tools (static analysis, code understanding, pattern recognition).
- 8 years familiarity with DevSecOps practices (automated testing, deployment, monitoring).
- 8 years exposure to cloud-native transformation strategies (containerization, elastic scaling, loosely coupled interfaces).
- 8 years working in Agile methodologies (sprint planning, backlog refinement, collaboration with SMEs).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Strong understanding of software design principles and patterns.
Preferred Qualifications
- 6 years strong communication and collaboration skills.
- 6 years experience with requirement elicitation and documentation.
