Job Title: .NET Developer /Software Engineer 2

Note: Need someone with Texas Department Of Agriculture (TDA) experience and must be in Austin, TX.
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Software Engineer 2 to perform advanced application development and support for enterprise web-based systems. The role involves designing, developing, enhancing, and maintaining front-end and back-end applications using modern Microsoft technologies. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with technical and business teams to deliver scalable, high-performance solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, debug, and document complex client/server and web-based applications
- Build and enhance front-end and back-end solutions using C#, .NET, Blazor, HTML5, CSS, SQL, and related technologies
- Develop and maintain databases, stored procedures, and integrations using Oracle and SQL Server
- Perform root cause analysis and resolve application issues in production and non-production environments
- Collaborate with analysts, architects, and business users to gather and validate requirements
- Enhance application usability using DevExpress tools, including advanced grid implementations
- Maintain compatibility with existing systems while designing new functionality
- Recommend and implement improvements to application development processes
- Participate in Agile SDLC activities, including design reviews, demos, and team collaboration
- Provide ongoing application support and maintenance
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or higher
- 4 years of experience developing web-based applications
- 4 years of experience with .NET/C#, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, SQL, Stored Procedures, Oracle, and SQL Server
- 4 years of experience in troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and issue resolution
- 3 years of experience working in Agile SDLC environments
- 3 years of experience collaborating within cross-functional development teams
- 2 years of experience using Azure DevOps, Jira, or similar tools
- 1 year of experience with C# .NET Blazor
- Strong communication skills and experience presenting application changes to stakeholders
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience migrating applications from Java to C# .NET Blazor
- Knowledge of responsive web design and WCAG accessibility standards
- Prior experience supporting State of Texas applications or systems
Work Schedule & Location
- Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (State holidays excluded)
- Onsite role in Austin, TX
- Occasional after-hours or weekend work may be required with prior approval
