Job Overview
A Data Analyst/Report Writer III is needed to support multiple program initiatives and special projects. This role involves senior-level data analysis, report development, and consultative support. The Analyst will be responsible for transforming complex datasets into actionable insights, developing data models, creating dashboards, and optimizing operational processes.
You will work closely with cross-functional teams to analyze data requirements, develop reporting tools, and provide strategic recommendations. This role requires strong analytical experience, advanced reporting skills, and the ability to work independently with substantial autonomy.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze data from various program initiatives and provide recommendations to leadership.
- Acquire, validate, and structure data from multiple sources.
- Develop regular and ad-hoc reports, dashboards, and visualizations.
- Identify data trends, correlations, and operational gaps.
- Create metadata, tables, and user interfaces for clear reporting outputs.
- Develop or contribute to as-is / to-be data models for operational efficiency.
- Assess existing data processes, standards, and policies for improvements.
- Participate in or lead special data projects as assigned.
- Prepare concise analytical reports for executive stakeholders.
- Support documentation such as requirements, gap analysis, process flows, roadmaps, and test cases
Required Qualifications (Must Have)
- 8 years analyzing and correlating complex data and preparing concise reports.
- 8 years creating actionable insights from data to support business decisions.
- 8 years developing as-is/to-be data models and identifying operational improvements.
- 8 years mapping data, establishing benchmarks, and developing performance trend analyses.
- 8 years analyzing data policies and procedures and their impact on system functions.
- 8 years acquiring, structuring, and reporting data, including metadata and table creation.
- 8 years developing data reports, visualizations, and dashboards using reporting tools.
Preferred Qualifications
- 5 years advanced dashboarding, reporting, and data visualization experience.
- 5 years SDLC documentation experience (gap analysis, requirements, system/data flows, use cases, test cases).
- 1 year experience supporting state or federal public sector programs.
Work Conditions
- Must be onsite in Austin, TX.
- Local candidates only (within a 50-mile radius).
- Occasional remote work may be permitted depending on business needs.
- Must be willing to work evenings/weekends if required (pre-approved).
- No relocation, travel reimbursement, or per diem.
