What are the responsibilities and job description for the Ophthalmic Medical Scribe position at Price Vision Group?

Ophthalmic Assistant / Scribe duties include

 

Complete appropriate patient intake assessment, including various vision and ancillary tests,

Accurately and completely document patient care in the EMR, including scribing for doctors, and appropriate superbill charging and coding.

Monitor and facilitate patient flow in the clinic, working collaboratively with other clinical and front office staff.

Answer patient questions, address concerns, follow up on questions, and/or refer patient questions to providers as appropriate.

 

Certifications preferred: Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT) or Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) or Certified Ophthalmic Scribe (OSC.) For uncertified candidates, progression to certification will be the goal. Experience with EMR preferred. Along with the required experience in ophthalmology, customer service excellence, attention to detail, organization, dependability, teamwork and ability to multitask are a must!
