Job Description
Price County is accepting applications for a full-time Behavioral Health Services Social Worker within the Health & Human Services Department. This is a full-time, 40 hour/week position within the Behavioral Health Unit serving children, youth, adults and families faced with mental health and/or substance abuse challenges. Position has extensive contact with the public, other professional service providers in the community and other employees in the department. Position functions are performed in an office, client home and community setting. Major job responsibilities of this position focus on providing case management for persons on Chapter 51 Mental Health Commitment Orders or Substance Use Commitment Orders, persons that have voluntarily enrolled in the Intensive Supervision Program for OWI offenses, and persons who have asked for assistance on an informal basis for mental health or AODA concerns. Position requires crisis on-call rotation. Position is under the direct supervision of the Behavioral Health Services Unit Supervisor and the general supervision of the Health & Human Services Director.
This is a full-time, regular, non-exempt position with a starting hourly wage of $25.39 (Grade H) and full benefit package. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Bachelor’s degree in social work or related field
- Certified Social Worker or ability to obtain certification within one year of employment
- Two years post degree experience working with target population preferred
- Experience and/or education in group facilitation and conflict resolution preferred
- Knowledgeable of Mental Health/Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse including Wisconsin State Statute §51
- The ability to work a flexible schedule and perform after-hours services when needed or scheduled
- A valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle insured to county-required limits
Additional Information
The selection process for this position may include an employment history evaluation, a personal interview, a pre-employment physical, including a drug screening, a Wisconsin Department of Justice caregiver background check, and the WiSACWIS background check.
