This is an exciting opportunity to help launch a modern, professionally managed hotel from the ground up and be part of establishing a strong team culture from day one.
Our hotel is designed to deliver a high-quality guest experience for business travelers, families, sports teams, and visitors to the Kansas City area. Located next to the AdventHealth Sports Park at Bluhawk and surrounded by new shopping, dining, and entertainment, the property is expected to serve a steady flow of guests year-round in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

The Breakfast Attendant is responsible for setting up, maintaining, and breaking down the breakfast buffet area while ensuring a clean, inviting, and efficient environment for guests. This role requires attention to detail, excellent customer service, and adherence to food safety standards.
Responsibilities & Duties
- Set up the breakfast buffet before guests arrive.
- Replenish food, beverages, and supplies during service.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the breakfast area, including tables, counters, and appliances.
- Monitor food freshness and presentation.
- Assist guests with special dietary requests and answer questions.
- Break down and clean the buffet area after service.
- Dispose of trash and store leftover food and equipment properly.
- Keep inventory of breakfast items and notify management when supplies are low.
- Assist in preparing food items as required.
- Follow health and safety guidelines for food handling.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills/Abilities and Knowledge
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to follow instructions
- Excellent customer service skills
- Knowledge of food safety standards
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous experience in food service or hospitality preferred
- Food handler certification may be required
- Food safety and hospitality training recommended
- Early morning shifts required
- Fast-paced environment with frequent guest interaction
- In-person, regular, predictable attendance is essential to the position
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time, typically for the duration of the shift
- Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, reach, and twist while setting up, maintaining, and breaking down the breakfast area
- Frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling of food items, supplies, trays, carts, and trash, generally up to 30 pounds
- Manual dexterity sufficient to handle utensils, food service equipment, small tools, and cleaning supplies safely and efficiently
- Ability to operate kitchen and service equipment, including ovens, warmers, coffee machines, carts, and dishwashers
- Ability to tolerate exposure to heat, steam, cold storage areas, cleaning chemicals, and wet or slippery surfaces
- Visual ability to monitor food levels, cleanliness, timers, and safety conditions
- Auditory and verbal ability to communicate with guests and coworkers and respond to requests or safety needs
- Ability to work early morning hours, weekends, and holidays as required by hotel operations
