Field Finish Assistant – Cabinetry, Flooring & Interiors

Pay: $18.00–$20.00 per hour
Location: Tampa Bay Area
Employment Type: Full-Time
Work Location: On the road / in the field
Reports To: Operations Manager
Works Closely With: Project Coordinators, Operations Team, Builders’ Site Superintendents, Installation Teams, and Ownership

About the Role

Priano is looking for a detail-oriented Field Finish Assistant to support field checks, installation review, punch documentation, walkthrough readiness, and project closeout on high-end new construction and remodeling projects.

This is a field-based support role for someone who understands what clean, complete, high-quality interior finish work should look like. The right person may have experience as a cabinet installer helper, cabinet installer, finish carpentry assistant, closet installer, flooring field technician, punch technician, warranty technician, tile/flooring installer, or interior finish installer who wants a stable full-time role with benefits and growth potential.

This is not a production installer position and is not paid like subcontract installation work. Instead, this role is focused on visiting active jobsites, checking details, taking clear photos and notes, helping identify issues before they become callbacks, and supporting the operations team so projects move toward completion cleanly and professionally.

A strong candidate will have a sharp eye for detail, practical jobsite knowledge, and the ability to recognize issues with cabinetry, built-ins, trim, flooring, tile, countertops, appliance panels, fillers, scribes, door and drawer alignment, transitions, protection, damage, incomplete work, and general finish quality.

Cabinetry and interior finish experience is highly valuable. Flooring knowledge is also a strong plus.

Position Summary

Priano is seeking a Field Finish Assistant to serve as the company’s eyes in the field for interior finish projects throughout the Tampa Bay area. This role supports the Project Coordinators and Operations Manager by visiting jobsites to verify site readiness, review layouts and field conditions, check installation progress, document deficiencies, and help ensure jobs are ready for walkthroughs, punch completion, and closeout.

The ideal candidate is practical, observant, organized, and comfortable working independently in active construction and remodeling environments. This person does not need to be the lead installer on every trade, but they do need to know when something does not look right, document it clearly, and communicate it promptly to the right people.

This is a strong opportunity for someone with hands-on interior finish experience who wants to move into a more stable field operations role with long-term growth potential.

Key Responsibilities

Field Checks and Pre-Installation Review

  • Travel to job sites as directed by Project Coordinators and the Operations Manager
  • Perform field checks before delivery, installation, walkthrough, or closeout

  • Verify basic dimensions, layouts, openings, transitions, appliance locations, wall conditions, floor conditions, and other field details
  • Review scopes of work, work orders, plans, cabinet layouts, elevations, and related project documentation
  • Identify jobsite conditions that may delay installation or create quality, fit, finish, or warranty concerns
  • Report issues promptly so corrective action can be coordinated before crews arrive or before the project advances too far

  • Inspect flooring, tile, countertops, wall coverings, waterproofing systems, plumbing fixtures, appliances, window treatments, and other interior finish categories as needed
  • Identify visible defects, installation deficiencies, incomplete scope, damage, punch items, missing materials, site-related issues, and work that may require follow-up
  • Help verify that work appears consistent with project documentation, manufacturer expectations, and sound installation practices

  • Help verify whether punch and corrective work has been completed properly
  • Help distinguish between installation issues, site-condition issues, missing materials, damage by others, and items requiring internal review
  • Provide useful field feedback that helps improve installation quality, reduce callbacks, and prevent recurring issues
  • Support a culture of accountability, quality, and professionalism in the field

Documentation and Reporting

  • Document site conditions, installation progress, deficiencies, completed work, and punch items using notes, photos, videos, and checklists
  • Use a company-provided laptop with cellular connectivity to submit timely field updates during or shortly after jobsite visits
  • Take clear photos that show the issue, location, surrounding context, and detail needed for follow-up
  • Keep records organized by job, room, date, and issue type so the operations team can act quickly
  • Communicate updates promptly to Project Coordinators and the Operations Manager
  • Escalate concerns appropriately and avoid making unauthorized commitments on pricing, schedule, scope, responsibility, or approval

Jobsite Safety and Professional Conduct

  • Observe jobsite safety requirements and conduct yourself appropriately in active construction and remodeling environments
  • Be aware of common jobsite hazards and maintain safe practices during inspections, measuring, and walkthroughs
