Position Summary

BUILD. CREATE. RESTORE. MAKE SOMETHING THAT PEOPLE REMEMBER.

Are you the person who can look at a pile of materials and see what it could become?

Do you know your way around a table saw, drill, sander, paint sprayer, and toolbox? Can you build a wall from a sketch, repair a damaged piece of décor, match a paint finish, or figure out how to make something work when there isn't an instruction manual?

If so, we want to meet you.

We are looking for a skilled Props & Creative Fabrication Specialist to join our Quality Control team. This is a hands-on position for someone who combines construction skills, craftsmanship, creativity, and an eye for detail.

Our Props Department builds custom pieces for events and restores our existing rental inventory. One day you may be building a custom wall; the next, you may be repairing a piece of furniture, matching a stain, rebuilding damaged décor, or creating a completely new finish.

No two projects are exactly the same.

ABOUT US

We are an event rental and production company that helps create memorable experiences through high-quality rental equipment, custom décor, structures, and event environments.

Our warehouse and QC teams are responsible for making sure our equipment is safe, clean, functional, visually appealing, and event-ready.

The Props Department takes that a step further by building, creating, restoring, and reinventing the pieces that make our events unique.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Build & Fabricate

  • Build custom walls, décor, props, displays, and specialty event pieces.
  • Work from drawings, sketches, photos, measurements, or concepts.
  • Measure, cut, assemble, sand, and finish wood and other materials.
  • Safely operate saws, drills, sanders, and other hand and power tools.
  • Determine the best materials and construction methods for each project.
  • Modify existing inventory to meet new design requirements.
  • Build pieces that are strong enough to withstand transportation, setup, breakdown, and repeated rental use.

Restore & Repair

  • Inspect rental inventory for damage, wear, and deterioration.
  • Repair, rebuild, reinforce, and restore props and décor.
  • Repair damaged wood, finishes, hardware, fiberglass, and other materials.
  • Refinish existing inventory to bring it back to event-ready condition.
  • Determine whether an item should be repaired, rebuilt, repurposed, or replaced.
  • Maintain the quality and longevity of our rental inventory.

Paint & Finish

  • Sand, prep, prime, paint, stain, and finish a variety of materials.
  • Match existing colors, stains, textures, and finishes.
  • Create specialty finishes including distressed, aged, weathered, or custom looks.
  • Understand how different paints, stains, coatings, adhesives, and materials interact.
  • Produce a finished product that looks as good as it functions.

Think Creatively

  • Turn concepts and ideas into physical, buildable pieces.
  • Solve unique construction and restoration challenges.
  • Recommend materials, techniques, and solutions.
  • Work with the Props and QC teams to develop creative solutions.
  • Find ways to improve the appearance, durability, and functionality of our inventory.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

We're looking for someone who is part builder, part artist, and part problem solver.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience in carpentry, fabrication, scenic construction, prop building, restoration, construction, or a related trade.
  • Comfortable using hand and power tools.
  • Experience working with wood and common building materials.
  • Experience with painting, staining, sanding, and surface preparation.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to accurately measure and follow drawings, photos, plans, or verbal instructions.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and solve problems independently.
  • Ability to work safely and maintain an organized workspace.
  • Ability to work independently while also being part of a larger team.
  • Reliable, accountable, and willing to take ownership of the finished product.

Experience That Will Make You Stand Out

Experience with any of the following is a major plus:

  • Scenic fabrication
  • Prop fabrication
  • Set construction
  • Finish carpentry
  • Furniture building or restoration
  • Event production
  • Faux finishing
  • Distressing and aging techniques
  • Fiberglass repair or fabrication
  • Spray painting
  • Artistic painting
  • Upholstery
  • Welding or metal fabrication
  • Reading shop drawings or construction plans

We care more about what you can do than what your previous job title was.

If you've spent years building sets, remodeling houses, restoring furniture, creating props, working in a scenic shop, or making things in your own garage—we want to hear from you.

THE RIGHT PERSON FOR THIS JOB

You might be the person we're looking for if:

  • You enjoy making things with your hands.
  • You take pride in craftsmanship.
  • You notice when something isn't level, square, smooth, or finished correctly.
  • You can look at a picture and figure out how to build it.
  • You enjoy working with wood, paint, tools, and different materials.
  • You don't get frustrated when a project doesn't go according to plan—you figure it out.
  • You care about the finished product, not just checking a task off a list.
  • You can balance creativity with durability and practicality.
  • You enjoy variety and don't want to build the same thing every day.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

This is an active, hands-on position in a warehouse/shop environment.

You must be able to:

  • Stand and work on your feet for extended periods.
  • Bend, kneel, climb, reach, and work in various positions.
  • Lift and move materials and finished products.
  • Safely operate hand and power tools.
  • Work around sawdust, paint, stains, adhesives, and other shop materials.
  • Wear required PPE and follow all safety procedures.

WHY JOIN OUR TEAM?

You won't be sitting behind a desk all day.

You'll build things that people actually see.

The work you create may become part of a wedding, corporate event, gala, festival, or large-scale production. You'll have the opportunity to take an idea from a sketch or conversation and turn it into something real.

From restoring a well-loved piece of inventory to building something completely from scratch, your craftsmanship will directly impact the quality of the events we produce.

If you're a builder, creator, craftsman, artist, or problem solver who takes pride in your work, we'd love to talk to you.

APPLY TODAY

Tell us about your experience, what you like to build, and what you're good at.

If you have a portfolio, photos of your work, or examples of projects you've built, we'd love to see them.
