Locum/ OBGYN Physician

Locum Tenens OB-GYN Needed for our Community Health Client

Job Description:

The OB-GYN Physician reports directly to the Director of Women’s Health and is responsible for providing high-quality, comprehensive medical care to patients. The physician will perform patient assessments, review medical histories, provide health education and counseling, diagnose and treat medical conditions, and develop appropriate treatment plans in accordance with established protocols and standards of care.

The OB-GYN Physician will work as an integral member of a multidisciplinary healthcare team and provide clinical leadership, direction, and supervision to mid-level providers. The physician will oversee the overall care of assigned patients while maintaining a strong focus on quality, patient safety, access to care, and patient satisfaction.

Qualifications:

• Board Certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
• Medical degree from an accredited medical school.
• Current, unrestricted Texas medical license in good standing.
• Current DEA registration and all other credentials required to legally practice medicine in Texas.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or equivalent.
• Completion of continuing medical education as required by the physician's specialty and licensing requirements.
• Willingness to provide prenatal, contraceptive, and comprehensive women's healthcare services.
• Proficiency with computers and Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive outpatient OB-GYN care in a clinic setting.
• Conduct medical histories, physical examinations, assessments, diagnoses, and treatment planning.
• Diagnose, treat, manage, and appropriately refer patients requiring specialty or ancillary services.
• Provide prenatal care and contraceptive counseling and services.
• Prescribe medications and recommend appropriate treatment modalities.
• Perform, order, and interpret diagnostic studies, laboratory tests, imaging, and other appropriate medical evaluations.
• Review laboratory and diagnostic imaging results promptly and make appropriate medical management decisions.
• Follow established clinical protocols, evidence-based practices, and applicable standards of care.
• Maintain accurate, timely, and problem-oriented medical records in accordance with organizational policies and regulatory requirements.
