We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Phlebotomist to join our healthcare team. Responsibilities
- Collect blood specimens from patients using venipuncture and other laboratory techniques with precision and care.
- Ensure proper labeling, handling, and processing of specimens according to established protocols.
- Maintain strict adherence to aseptic techniques and safety standards during specimen collection.
- Monitor and record vital signs when necessary, providing comprehensive patient care during procedures.
- Prepare patients for blood sampling by explaining procedures clearly and addressing any concerns empathetically.
- Follow laboratory procedures meticulously to ensure specimen integrity and accurate test results.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the phlebotomy area, adhering to infection control guidelines.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in laboratory procedures, including venipuncture and blood sampling techniques.
- Knowledge of laboratory techniques, medical terminology, and physiology relevant to specimen collection.
- Prior clinical laboratory or hospital experience is highly desirable.
- Strong patient service skills with the ability to communicate effectively and compassionately.
- Familiarity with anatomy knowledge, aseptic technique, and blood collection protocols.
- Certification or training in phlebotomy is preferred but not mandatory if equivalent laboratory experience is demonstrated.
