Job Overview
We are seeking dedicated Armed Protection Officers to join our team. The ideal candidates will play a crucial role in maintaining a safe and secure environment for a house of worship located in Brentwood and Nashville. The positions are part-time and require strong observational skills, the ability to respond effectively to incidents, a commitment to upholding post orders and safety protocols, and maintaining positive engagement with congregants, visitors, volunteers, and church staff.
Duties
- Respond promptly to emergency situations, ensuring the safety of all individuals on the premises.
- Provide first aid and CPR assistance as needed, ensuring immediate care for injured individuals.
- Collaborate with law enforcement agencies when necessary, providing detailed reports of incidents.
- Manage conflicts effectively through de-escalation techniques and conflict management strategies.
- Submit and maintain accurate logs of incidents, Suspicious Activity Reports (SAR), etc.
- Be familiar with and follow site post orders, facility Emergency Action Plans (EAP), etc.
Requirements
- Tennessee Armed Guard License.
- Certification in CPR/AED, First Aid, and bleeding control techniques is preferred.
- Experience in law enforcement or enhanced armed is highly desirable.
- Strong conflict management skills with the ability to handle high-pressure situations calmly.
- A background in military service is a plus but not mandatory.
- Excellent observational skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in various environments.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- This position requires a commitment to work every Sunday between the hours of 8:00 a.m.- 12:00 p.m. Hours may vary some, based on special events, etc.
- Pass a Firearms Qualification Standard (FQS).
- Pass a background inquiry.
- Attend required Behavior Threat Detection (BTD) Training.
This is a great part-time position for retired military personnel, retired Law Enforcement Officers (LEO), or experienced armed security professionals who would like to pick-up extra work to supplement their income.
