Summary
The Executive Director (ED) provides strategic leadership, operational/administrative oversight, and financial management to advance the organization's mission. The ED serves as the liaison between the community, funders, and the organization. The Key responsibilities include fundraising, board relations, staff development, and ensuring quality, compassionate service delivery. This role requires balancing empathy with business acumen.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
· Strategic Leadership & Governance: Collaborate with the Board of Directors to establish long-term goals, policies, and strategic plans.
· Program Oversight & Quality Assurance: Ensure that human service programs are effective, compliant with regulations, and directly contribute to the organization's mission.
· Fundraising & Donor Relations: Lead efforts to secure funding, cultivate donor relationships, and identify new revenue sources.
· Financial Management: Oversee the annual budget, financial reporting, and fiscal affairs of the organization.
· Staff & Volunteer Management: Recruit, manage, and mentor a diverse team, fostering a positive, inclusive, and mission-driven culture.
· Community Relations & Advocacy: Serve as the face of the organization, representing the non-profit to the public, media, partners, and government officials.
Other duties may be assigned
· Provide administrative oversight and support for all programs and services
· Develop and implement program services
· Ensure continuity of services and expand as needed
· Negotiate and initiate contracts for the organization
· Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, policies, contracts, and agreements
· Prepare grant applications and develop proposals
· Approve all purchases of goods and services
· Screen and hire personnel
· Prepare budgets and oversee fiscal affairs
· Review and sign all invoices
· Represent the agency at meetings, conferences, and community events
· Perform various tasks as prescribed by the CEO
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
The ED has the overall responsibility of organizational supervision. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Employees in this classification shall possess a master’s degree in social work, psychology, Criminal Justice or a related field from an accredited institution and a minimum of five years of supervisory experience. Must demonstrate good verbal and written skills.
LANGUAGE
Must possess the ability to read and interpret documents such as case notes, safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals. Must possess the ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of clients or employees of an organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Must be proficient in basic mathematical functions, i.e., addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Must also be able to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY
Must possess the ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Must possess the ability to proficiently and efficiently deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
