Prevailance is seeking an experienced Senior Naval Surface Fire Support (NSFS) Technical Instructor to deliver high-quality classroom and CIC-based training in support of Navy formal training programs. This role is ideal for an experienced Fire Controlman with deep NSFS expertise and a passion for instruction, curriculum improvement, and fleet readiness. Travel may be required.
Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
- Provide classroom and CIC team trainer instruction for Naval Surface Fire Support
- Instruct students on non-AEGIS gun weapon systems and associated tools (MK 34/MK 86, MK 160, NFCS, CADRT, MFP, PMP, charts)
- Assess student performance and prepare After Instruction Reports (AIRs)
- Prepare training spaces, equipment, and instructional materials
- Support curriculum maintenance and updates using Navy-authorized authoring tools (e.g., AIM II)
- Assist with course reviews, curriculum updates, and integration of new tactics, techniques, and procedures
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Graduate of a Navy, Marine Corps, or equivalent military instructor certification course
- 10 years as a CG/DDG Non-AEGIS Fire Controlman with MK 34 or MK 86 GWS experience
- 5 years experience training CIC watch teams on gun system employment and C2
- 5 years experience as an instructor and working with Navy training curriculum
- NSFS team experience aboard a U.S. Navy CG/DDG or prior NSFS instructor experience at EWTGPAC/EWTGLANT
- Excellent communication and instructional presentation skills
- Ability to stand for extended periods in a shipboard training environment
Desired Qualifications:
- Prior assignment at EWTG
- Completion of EWTGPAC Instructor qualification/certification
Education:
- High School diploma or GED
Clearance:
- Possesses and maintain a Secret Clearance

Salary : $80,000 - $120,000
