Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough intake assessments and diagnostic evaluations utilizing ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding systems to accurately identify mental health conditions.
- Deliver individual, group, and family counseling sessions employing evidence-based therapies such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT).
- Implement crisis intervention strategies and crisis management protocols to ensure patient safety during acute episodes.
- Utilize telehealth platforms to provide remote counseling services while maintaining HIPAA compliance and secure medical documentation practices.
- Develop personalized treatment plans incorporating psychopharmacology collaboration when appropriate and monitor patient progress through detailed medical records.
- Engage in case management activities including patient assessment, social work coordination, and behavioral health support.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or master’s degree in social work, psychology, counseling, or a related field; licensure or certification as required by state law.
- Proven experience working with a wide arrange of patients in outpatient settings.
- Strong knowledge of mental health counseling techniques including motivational interviewing, grief counseling, addiction counseling, PTSD care, and gender issues counseling.
- Familiarity with ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), CPT coding for billing purposes, and medical terminology relevant to behavioral health.
- Experience with crisis management protocols and behavior management strategies for patients with complex needs.
- Proficiency in telehealth technology platforms and electronic medical records systems ensuring HIPAA compliance.
- Ability to work effectively with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism spectrum disorder using specialized approaches like applied behavior analysis or special education techniques.
