Job Overview
This position will oversee HRIS business partnership, system delivery, and stakeholder engagement activities while managing a team including an HRIS Business Partner and HRIS Manager, with dotted-line collaboration across HRIS analysts. The role partners closely with senior HR leadership, IT, and business stakeholders to align HR technology capabilities with organizational priorities and drive measurable value through system optimization, analytics, and process improvement.
Utilizing a data-driven and service-oriented approach, this leader will enhance HR operational efficiency, streamline workflows, improve user experience, and ensure scalable and secure HR technology solutions — most significantly within the Workday ecosystem.
This role is hybrid in office and the preferred locations for this position are Charlotte, NC, Des Moines, IA, Dallas, TX, Scottsdale, AZ, or Minneaposlis, MN.
What You’ll Do
Strategic Leadership & Technology Enablement
Translate enterprise HR technology strategy into executable roadmaps, priorities, and delivery plans
Partner with senior leadership to align HRIS initiatives with business and HR objectives
Provide strategic guidance on optimizing Workday usage, module adoption, and system capabilities
Identify opportunities to enhance efficiency, scalability, and employee experience through technology solutions
Participate in HR strategy discussions as the operational SME for HR systems and data capabilities
Stakeholder Partnership & Governance
Serve as a senior escalation and partnership point for operating companies and internal stakeholders
Ensure effective intake, prioritization, and governance of HR technology requests
Guide stakeholders on leveraging HRIS solutions to improve processes and outcomes
Communicate system updates, enhancements, and roadmap progress across the organization
Build strong cross-functional partnerships with IT, HR leaders, and business teams
Delivery Oversight & Execution
Oversee configuration, integrations, reporting, and system functionality within Workday
Ensure delivery of enhancements, implementations, and integrations across modules including Core HCM, Compensation, Talent, and Benefits
Lead project execution from planning through deployment and adoption
Monitor delivery progress, risks, and dependencies to ensure successful outcomes
Ensure documentation, controls, and compliance within systems of record
Analytics, Reporting & Data Integrity
Partner with leadership and IT to advance HR analytics capabilities
Support development and delivery of dashboards, reporting, and actionable insights
Ensure HR data integrity, security, and regulatory compliance
Promote data-driven decision making across stakeholders
Drive continuous improvement in reporting and analytics maturity
Team Leadership & Development
Lead and develop the HRIS function including:
HRIS Business Partner
HRIS Manager
Dotted-line collaboration with HRIS analysts
Set clear priorities, performance expectations, and development plans
Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and service excellence
Provide coaching, mentorship, and leadership support
Ensure team alignment with enterprise strategy and service model
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in HR, Information Systems, Business Administration, or related field (advanced degree preferred)
5–10 years of progressive HRIS or HR technology experience
Demonstrated leadership experience managing HRIS teams or business partner functions
Strong Workday expertise including configuration, reporting, integrations, and module functionality
Experience supporting multi-entity or shared services environments preferred
Proven stakeholder partnership and influence skills across organizational levels
Strong analytical mindset with ability to translate business needs into technical solutions
Experience leading HRIS or technology-related projects and implementations
Knowledge of HR data governance, security practices, and regulatory considerations
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
PMP or Workday certifications are a plus
