Position Overview
The Structural Designer is responsible for supporting the analysis, design, and documentation of structural systems across a diverse portfolio of projects. This includes preparing construction documents, performing structural calculations, and coordinating with internal and external project team members.
The role also includes participation in construction administration services, including but not limited to reviewing shop drawings and submittals for conformance with design intent, responding to Requests for Information (RFIs), and attending site visits to observe construction progress and evaluate field conditions.
Travel Requirements
This role includes up to 25% travel, primarily for job site visits associated with initial building surveys, feasibility studies, and construction administration services. Travel is generally regional to the greater Philadelphia area and scheduled in coordination with project needs and client timelines.
Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Architectural Engineering with a structural focus
• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification
• Strong interest in structural design and analytical problem solving
• Commitment to producing high-quality work and continuous technical development
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
• Ability and willingness to work in Revit and assist in the preparation of construction documents
• Authorization to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship
Preferred Experience
• Prior internship or professional experience with a consulting engineering or construction firm
• Exposure to field conditions and construction practices
• Experience with Revit Structure or other 3D modeling platforms
• Familiarity with structural analysis software such as RAM Structural System, RAM Elements, or RISA
