Parts Counterperson
Preston Auto Group is looking for a reliable, professional Parts Counterperson to purchase, sell, store, and issue parts within our busy dealership. As a Parts Counterperson, you'll be the backbone of our parts operation — ordering parts, managing inventory, and processing invoices, all while delivering the excellent service our customers and internal staff expect. This role calls for someone detail-oriented on the back end and personable on the front end.
Responsibilities
- Determine needs and accurately specify parts accordingly
- Create and modify purchase orders
- Issue purchase orders to the appropriate vendor
- Record warranty parts returned
- Create special-ordered parts in the dealership computer system and notify the ASM, technician, or client upon receipt
- Review special order parts tracking
- Process and close open invoices
- Compare invoices against requisitions to verify quality and quantity of merchandise received
- Keep records of outside purchases and parts received and issued
- Perform ongoing warehouse parts inventory
- Attend weekly department meetings
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- One year of dealership warehouse experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Strong people skills for working with customers and internal staff
- Ability to regularly lift/move up to 25 lbs. and occasionally lift/move more than 100 lbs.
- Ability to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms for extended periods; occasional climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling
- Close vision and ability to adjust focus
