Sugo Italian Steakhouse has been proudly rated the #1 Fine Dining Restaurant in Wilmington, NC, and we're looking for an exceptional Host/Hostess to join our front-of-house team. Located in the heart of downtown, Sugo combines bold Italian flavors with prime steaks and elegant service in a refined, high-energy atmosphere.
As the first and last point of contact for our guests, the host/hostess plays a vital role in shaping the guest experience from start to finish.
Key Responsibilities:
- Warmly greet and welcome guests with professionalism and grace
- Manage reservations and waitlists using Tock
- Coordinate seating flow with servers and management to optimize service
- Maintain a clean, organized, and presentable host stand and entrance
- Provide accurate wait times and handle special guest requests
- Answer phones and assist with guest inquiries
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a host/hostess role, preferably in fine dining or upscale restaurants
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Polished appearance and professional demeanor
- Ability to multitask and remain calm in a high-paced environment
- Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays is required
- Familiarity with Tock or similar reservation systems is a plus
