Job Cost Accountant

Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Job Cost Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing cost accounting functions, preparing financial reports. This role requires a strong understanding of accounting principles, financial analysis, and proficiency with QuickBooks. The Job Cost Accountant will play a critical role in cost management, budgeting, and financial report interpretation to support strategic decision-making across the organization and have 3 years experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and analyze job cost reports to monitor project expenses and profitability.
• Conduct balance sheet reconciliations, account reconciliations, and general ledger accounting to ensure accuracy of financial data.
• Working with Accounts Payable.
• Perform cash flow analysis and assist in forecasting to support budgeting processes.
• Utilize accounting software such QuickBooks for data collection and financial reporting.
• Interpret financial reports to identify trends, variances, and areas for cost improvement.
• Assist in the preparation of financial reports for management review and external auditors.

Skills

• Knowledge of Estimates.
• Knowledge of Paving.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles.
• Proficiency with accounting QuickBooks.
• Experience with financial report writing, financial analysis, and financial report interpretation.
• Expertise in cost management, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow analysis, and corporate accounting practices.
• Ability to perform balance sheet reconciliation, account reconciliation, general ledger accounting, and account analysis accurately.
• Familiarity with public accounting standards is a plus.
• Excellent data collection skills combined with strong analytical capabilities.
• Effective communication skills for preparing clear financial reports and collaborating across departments. Pay: $45,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
