Pet Care Associate – Prestige Pet Hotel & Spa
Location: 1605 N. Franklin Street, Christiansburg, VA

Prestige Pet Hotel & Spa is hiring seasonal pet care team members to help us through our busy holiday season at our Christiansburg location — with the opportunity to stay on permanently if it’s a great fit!
Seasonal Dates
December 20 – January 15
Available Hours: 7:00 AM – 6:00 PM
Shifts can be split into:
- Morning: 7:00 AM – 1:00 PM
- Afternoon: 1:00 PM – 6:00 PM
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Walking dogs
- Feeding dogs & cats
- Monitoring pets’ overall health and well-being
- Writing detailed pet updates for owners
- Providing love, attention, and enrichment
Bonus Opportunity:
We also offer in-home pet sitting, with additional earning potential!
Hotel Pay:
- Base Pay: $15/hour
- Holiday Premium Pay: $20/hour on: December 23–26, December 31 – January 1
Who We’re Looking For
- Reliable, responsible animal lovers
- Comfortable handling dogs of various sizes
- Strong communication skills (written updates are important!)
- Previous pet care experience is a plus, but not required

Responsibilities
As a Pet Care Associate, you’ll be hands-on in providing excellent care and service, including:
- Walking and exercising dogs
- Feeding dogs and cats according to owner instructions
- Providing playtime, enrichment, and love
- Monitoring and recording the health and behavior of pets
- Taking photos and sending daily updates to clients
- Checking pets in/out of the hotel and communicating with clients
- Light cleaning duties (food/water bowls, spot cleaning, handling accidents)
(Note: a dedicated housekeeping team handles deep cleaning of rooms)
Qualifications
- Must be reliable, responsible, and dependable
- A genuine love for animals and their overall well-being.
- Strong communication and customer service skills. Friendly.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Availability for at least one holiday shift per year
- Prior boarding, daycare, or veterinary experience is a plus, but not required.
- Great for a student in a pre-vet or animal related field
Schedule
We are currently hiring for part-time (or full time) shifts:
- 7:00am – 1:00pm
- 3:00pm – 6:00pm
(Must have at least 3-4 days per week; opportunity for additional hours if desired)
