Part-Time Janitorial Technician
Location: Blood Bank (Located Inside Church Facility)
Schedule: Part-Time | Evening or Flexible Hours
Position Summary
The Janitorial Technician is responsible for maintaining a clean, sanitary, and orderly blood bank environment that meets healthcare cleanliness standards. This role is critical to infection control, donor safety, staff efficiency, and regulatory compliance. Attention to detail, consistency, and accountability are required.
Primary Areas Serviced
- Blood collection rooms
- Donor waiting and recovery areas
- Restrooms used by donors and staff
- Staff workstations and offices
- Break room
- Hallways, entryways, and shared spaces between the blood bank and church
Core Responsibilities
- Clean and disinfect all assigned areas according to healthcare-level standards
- Sanitize high-touch surfaces including door handles, light switches, counters, chairs, and equipment surfaces
- Sweep, mop, and maintain floors using approved cleaning products
- Clean and restock restrooms (toilets, sinks, mirrors, soap, paper products)
- Empty trash and replace liners; no handling of medical waste
- Maintain cleanliness without disrupting church activities
- Report supply shortages, damage, or sanitation concerns promptly
- Follow all safety protocols, including PPE use and chemical handling
Performance Expectations
- Work must be completed thoroughly and consistently at each shift
- No visible dust, debris, streaks, or odors after cleaning
- Must follow task lists and schedules without reminders
- Reliable attendance and punctuality are required
- Ability to accept feedback and correct issues promptly
Qualifications
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Comfortable working in a healthcare environment with strict cleanliness standards
- Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently
- Physically able to stand, bend, lift, and perform cleaning duties
