Responsibilities
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation
- Monitor and document vital signs and changes in the client's condition
- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, particularly those with dementia or Alzheimer's care needs
- Administer medications as prescribed and assist with medical documentation
- Utilize EMR or EHR systems for accurate record-keeping of patient care
- Perform light housekeeping duties including cleaning, laundry, and meal preparation to maintain a safe living environment
- Assist clients with mobility using equipment such as Hoyer lifts when necessary
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations while maintaining client confidentiality
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care tailored to each client's needs
Experience
Candidates should possess the following skills and experience:
- Previous experience in home health, senior care, or long-term care settings
- Familiarity with medical terminology and basic medical procedures such as catheter care and CPR
- Experience working with individuals who have developmental disabilities or require hospice care
- Knowledge of patient observation techniques and vital sign monitoring
