Addiction Counselor (CAC, LGPC, LGSW)
Location: Washington, D.C.
Employment Type: Full-Time (1.0 FTE)
Who We Are
At Prestige Healthcare Resources Inc. (PHRI), we believe in restoring hope, rebuilding lives, and reshaping the future of behavioral healthcare.
We’re not just another healthcare provider — we’re a community of changemakers driven by compassion and purpose. Serving over 1,500 patients across two states and expanding to serve 10,000 lives in five states within the next three years, we are on a mission to bring accessible, integrated care to those who need it most.
Here, we don’t just deliver care — we change outcomes, uplift communities, and transform lives. Every team member is part of that mission.
If you have a heart for healing and a passion for helping others reclaim their lives from addiction, then your story belongs here — with us.
We’re searching for a dedicated Addiction Counselor (CAC, LGPC, LGSW) to join our growing team of behavioral health professionals.
This isn’t just a counseling role — it’s an opportunity to make your impact count every single day. As an Addiction Counselor at PHRI, you’ll walk beside individuals on their journey to recovery, empowering them to rediscover strength, rebuild confidence, and renew purpose.
You’ll combine clinical skill with compassion, using evidence-based practices and trauma-informed care to help clients achieve sobriety, stability, and self-sufficiency.
In this role, you are the difference between despair and hope, between relapse and recovery, between surviving and truly living.
What You’ll Do
You’ll serve as both guide and advocate, creating pathways for clients to reach recovery while fostering trust, safety, and respect.
Your Core Responsibilities
- Maintain an assigned caseload in accordance with COMAR and CARF regulations.
- Conduct psychosocial assessments and interpretive summaries for new clients within 5 days of admission.
- Collaborate with treatment teams to create individualized, person-centered care plans and regularly update them based on client progress.
- Facilitate individual and group counseling sessions that promote healing and self-awareness.
- Develop and oversee aftercare and follow-up plans, ensuring clients remain supported beyond discharge.
- Coordinate care with Health Home and community resources, ensuring a holistic approach to wellness.
- Uphold meticulous documentation standards and compliance within PHRI’s EMR system.
- Empower clients with knowledge, accountability, and encouragement to sustain long-term recovery.
- Serve as a beacon of empathy and professionalism, fostering trust and integrity in every interaction.
Every session you lead, every plan you design, every life you touch — becomes a part of PHRI’s legacy of healing.
What You’ll Bring
You bring more than credentials — you bring heart. You understand the complexities of addiction, the resilience of the human spirit, and the power of a caring professional to change everything.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Behavioral Health, Psychology, Social Work, or related field.
- Current DC Licensure: CAC, LGPC, LGSW, or higher.
- At least 2 years of experience providing SUD counseling or related behavioral health services (preferred).
- Strong familiarity with ASAM criteria and evidence-based treatment models.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Adobe, and healthcare software tools.
- Legally authorized to work in the United States.
You are a natural communicator, a problem solver, and above all — a compassionate listener who sees the person before the problem.
Core Competencies
At PHRI, we believe in leaders who bring structure, empathy, and innovation to their work. You’ll thrive in this role if you can:
- Simplify complexity — break down big problems into achievable, client-centered goals.
- Communicate with clarity — offering insight, empathy, and accountability in equal measure.
- Think ahead — anticipate challenges, stay informed, and bring creative solutions to the table.
- Systemize processes — organize workflows to make care more efficient and effective.
- Foster growth — for your clients, your peers, and yourself.
Why PHRI?
Because your work here matters — deeply.
At PHRI, you’ll join a team where innovation meets compassion and where every staff member plays a vital role in improving community health.
You won’t just be counseling — you’ll be building futures. You’ll see your efforts come alive in the progress of your clients, the strength of their families, and the transformation of entire communities.
We celebrate resilience, champion inclusion, and believe in second chances — for our clients, our team, and our world.
Here, your career becomes your calling. And every day, your impact echoes far beyond your office.
