Position Overview
The Showroom Assistant plays a key role in creating an outstanding customer experience. This role supports daily showroom operations, assists customers in selecting flooring products, and ensures the space remains clean, organized, and visually appealing. Ideal candidates are detail-oriented, personable, and eager to learn about flooring products and design trends.
Key ResponsibilitiesCustomer Service & Sales Support
- Greet and welcome customers, offering assistance throughout their visit.
- Guide customers through product options, samples, and design selections.
- Answer questions about flooring materials, installation processes, timelines, and pricing (training provided).
- Prepare and maintain product sample kits for customers.
Showroom Operations
- Keep the showroom clean, organized, and visually appealing at all times.
- Maintain inventory of samples, catalogs, and displays; restock or reorder as needed.
- Assist in setting up new displays and merchandising product lines.
- Ensure all product labels, signage, and materials are accurate and up to date.
Administrative & Coordination Tasks
- Assist with scheduling in-home measurements and installation appointments.
- Enter customer information and order details into company systems.
- Communicate with vendors, installers, and internal team members as needed.
- Support sales staff with quotes, invoices, and follow-up communication.
Team & Project Support
- Help prepare materials for marketing events, promotions, and designer/contractor visits.
- Provide feedback on customer preferences, product trends, and showroom needs.
- Assist with light warehouse tasks such as organizing incoming samples (no heavy lifting required beyond typical retail handling).
Qualifications
- Previous retail, design, or customer service experience preferred.
- Interest in home improvement, interior design, or construction materials (training provided).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Comfortable learning technical product information.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic computer skills (email, order entry, scheduling tools).
