Position Overview
As a Flooring Helper at Prestige Flooring, you’ll be a vital part of our installation team, supporting on-site work and assisting with warehouse operations. This entry-level role is designed for someone who’s physically capable, eager to learn, and is interested in a long-term career in the flooring trade.
Key Responsibilities
1. Installation Support
- Assist lead installers in preparing job sites (measuring, laying out materials, cleaning).
- Load, carry, and unload flooring materials (carpet, tile, hardwood, vinyl) and tools.
- Remove old flooring when needed.
- Help with cutting and fitting flooring under supervision.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized job site.
2. Warehouse & Materials
- Stage materials for upcoming installations.
- Keep warehouse, van, and supply areas clean and organized.
3. Customer & Team Interaction
- Represent Prestige Flooring professionally on job sites and in customers’ homes.
- Communicate effectively with installers, sales staff, and project managers.
- Support a collaborative, team-first culture.
Qualifications
- No prior flooring experience required — we provide on-the-job training.
- Strong work ethic, willingness to learn, and dependability.
- Physically capable of lifting up to ~75 lbs, standing for long periods, and performing physical labor.
- Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license.
- Basic familiarity with hand or power tools is a plus, but not required.
- Good communication skills and ability to follow directions.
