Responsibilities
- Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Monitor patient health by observing vital signs, managing medication reminders, and reporting changes promptly
- Provide specialized care
- Document records accurately and maintain confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Support safe patient transfer methods using equipment like Hoyer lifts or other assistive devices
- Perform light housekeeping tasks including cleaning, laundry, meal preparation, and ensuring a safe living environment
- Follow home healthcare regulations and protocols while delivering compassionate patient care
- Proven experience working with geriatric patients, individuals with developmental disabilities, or those requiring memory care
- Familiarity with home care agency operations
- Ability to communicate effectively with clients and their families while maintaining patient confidentiality under HIPAA guidelines
- Physical ability for heavy lifting and patient transfer methods as needed for client safety
- Experience working within a client’s home and understanding of home & community care standards
- Compassionate caregiving skills combined with patience, attention to detail, and excellent client communication
