Job Summary:
Seeking a skilled and experienced Alarm Technician to join our growing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, servicing, and maintaining various types of fire alarm systems from a number of different brands for residential and commercial properties. This is a hands-on position that requires a strong understanding of fire alarm systems, a keen eye for troubleshooting, and experience with hand tools in addition to being able to work independently. Fire Alarm system programming experience is a plus but not required. Ideal candidate will have a background in the fire alarm service/ installation industry and be knowledgeable about NEC codes and regulations. This position offers great growth potential and opportunities to learn and make it your own. Primary role responsibilities will encompass fire alarm system service, troubleshooting, testing, and diagnostics. Potential for growth in other markets as desired including but not limited to fire extinguishers, fire suppression systems, gas detection systems, etc.
Responsibilities:
-Service, repair, and troubleshoot a multitude of different brands of fire alarm panels.
-Occasionally conduct inspections of alarm systems to identify any issues or potential problems in accordance with NFPA 72 and applicable standards.
- Occasionally provide assistance in installing new alarm systems, including wiring and connecting devices, ensuring that all components meet NEC, NFPA 72, and local standards.
- Use hand tools and specialized equipment, such as a multimeter, to test and diagnose fire alarm systems.
- Conduct system shutdowns for maintenance of integrated life safety systems
- Provide exceptional customer service, communicating effectively with clients to address their concerns and needs.
- Work remotely and independently to accomplish system service resolving system impairments.
- Perform routine maintenance and inspections to ensure that alarm systems are functioning properly and meeting safety standards.
Qualifications:
- A strong background in fire alarm system service and installation, with experience in system inspections or system programming. Candidate must have been in the fire alarm industry for 3 years.
- A valid MA Systems Technician "D" electrical license or "B" Journeyman Electrician's License REQUIRED.
- A Valid Drivers License with ability to pass a background CORI Check
-Knowledge of NEC codes, NFPA 72, and regulations.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Familiarity with fire alarm system functionalities, system integrations, applications, and other life safety equipment.
-Ability to travel throughout MA during normal working hours. Primary job site locations will be in Boston MA

Pay: $40.00 - $50.00 per hour
