Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Heating Air Conditioning Technician role located in Oakland, NJ. The technician will install, maintain, and repair residential and commercial heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems. Day-to-day tasks include diagnosing equipment issues, performing routine and preventive maintenance, checking system performance, and ensuring all work meets safety and code requirements. The role also involves communicating clearly with customers, explaining service findings, and recommending solutions, while maintaining accurate records of work performed and materials used. Technicians may assist with emergency service calls and support other team members as needed.
Qualifications
- Strong troubleshooting skills for diagnosing HVAC system issues efficiently and accurately.
- Knowledge of plumbing related to HVAC systems, including condensate drainage and connections.
- Experience with preventive maintenance, including inspections, cleaning, and routine servicing of HVAC equipment.
- Solid foundation in electricity, including reading wiring diagrams and safely working with electrical components.
- Prior experience as an HVAC technician or in a closely related mechanical trade.
- Ability to use HVAC tools and diagnostic equipment safely and effectively.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to customer locations.
- Strong communication and customer service skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Relevant vocational training, apprenticeship, or certifications in HVAC or a related field are preferred.
