Job Title: Tax Senior Associate

Location: Hybrid (office located in Midtown Manhattan; on-site 2-3 days per week)

Status: Full Time, Employee

Salary: Commensurate with experience; $75,000-$100,000 annually

Experience: Three to Five Years

Duties and Responsibilities:

Under managerial direction, the Tax Senior Associate performs a variety of accounting and tax responsibilities, including preparing and reviewing individual and business tax returns, supporting financial reporting, completing quarterly payroll and sales tax returns, performing write-ups, reconciling bank accounts, and helping ensure timely, accurate client deliverables.


Tax Preparation and Technical Accounting

  • Prepare and review federal, state, and local tax returns for businesses, organizations, and individuals.
  • Research tax questions, identify tax planning opportunities, and stay current on tax law to support potential client tax savings.
  • Perform mid- to high-level bookkeeping work, including financial statement analysis, month-end and year-end closings, and review of Associates’ work.
  • Review financial entries, documents, and reports for inconsistencies or errors; investigate questionable data and recommend actions to resolve discrepancies.

Client Service and Project Management

  • Interact directly with clients, manage multiple client projects, and keep delegators informed of work status in a timely manner.
  • Complete and deliver work that is technically accurate, organized, and on time.
  • Track and manage deadlines, including client reporting requirements.
  • Collaborate with upper-level management on client-related matters, including accounts receivable issues.

Team Development and Training

  • Provide constructive feedback to Associates’ to support their development, motivation, and performance.
  • Assist with training and professional development initiatives.
  • Maintain and expand professional knowledge through continuing education, professional publications, networking, and participation in professional organizations.

Process Improvement and Internal Controls

  • Recommend improvements to strengthen internal controls and streamline processes.


Skills and Qualifications:

  • Education and credentials: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required; Master’s degree in Accounting and CPA license, active progress toward CPA licensure, or EA license strongly preferred.
  • Tax experience: Prior tax preparation experience required.
  • Client communication: Experience interacting directly with clients and communicating professionally preferred.
  • Preparation, Analytical and organizational skills: Strong attention to detail, sound quantitative and analytical abilities, and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively. We expect that if invited for an interview, you will come to the meeting familiar with our website and service offerings.
  • Communication skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Professional approach: Reliable team player with a professional, hands-on work style.
  • Technology proficiency: Proficient with general computer applications, including Microsoft Office programs such as Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Accounting software: Knowledge of CCH Axcess Tax Suite and QuickBooks accounting software preferred.


Salary : $75,000 - $100,000
