What are the responsibilities and job description for the Turkey Breeder Farm Manager Trainee position at Prestage?
Prestage Farms is seeking a candidate for our Turkey Breeder Manager Trainee Program. Responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to; assisting in the day to day operations on a turkey breeder farm, brooding and rearing turkeys from hatch to 30 weeks of age, animal health and well being, farm sanitation and biosecurity, safety and housekeeping, proper washing and disinfection of the facility, and facility maintenance and upkeep.
Responsibilities
- Assist in all operations and care for the animals
- Ensure the welfare/well being of the animals
- Ensure the animals have proper feed and water availability
- Identify problem areas and correct them immediately or report them to the supervisor
- Maintain all equipment and the correct environment in all barns at all times
- Pressure wash
- Promote teamwork
- Perform other duties as defined by the manager or supervisor
- Good communication skills
- Reliable transportation and good attendance
- Ability to do physical labor
- Ability to follow instructions
- Must be a team player
- Able to work evenings, weekends, or holidays when necessary
