What are the responsibilities and job description for the CDL- Feed Driver (Nights) position at Prestage?
Prestage Farms is seeking a reliable and safety-minded Commercial Driver to join our team! This position is responsible for safely transporting feed to and from the feed mill during night-shift operations. If you’re a responsible driver with a strong work ethic and a Class A CDL, we want to hear from you! This is a local, full-time position averaging 55-60 hours per week.
Responsibilities- Safely transport feed to and from the feed mill
- Perform accurate daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections
- Maintain cleanliness of tractor and trailer inside and out
- Load and unload trucks at assigned destinations
- Ensure compartments are clean and tarps are properly secured before loading
- Collect required ingredient samples
- Accurately complete all delivery forms and return documentation
- Follow all company safety rules, policies, and DOT regulations
- Adapt to unexpected situations such as traffic delays, weather, or route changes
- Ability to lift/move up to 25 lbs regularly and up to 100 lbs. occasionally
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL-A)
- At least one year of actual commercial driving experience
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to safety
- Ability to drive long hours and travel regularly
- Extensive knowledge of applicable truck-driving rules and DOT regulations
- No recent moving violations or safety-related driving violations
- Ability to work weekends as needed
- Willingness to submit to a criminal background check and pre-employment drug screen
- Ability to provide employment references
- Adaptability, reliability, and strong problem-solving skills
