General
The process technician uses mechanical skills and machine running experience to help set up, monitor, and tear down state-of-the-art poultry processing equipment. The role is also responsible for performing troubleshooting and completing minor adjustments. Equipment is safely operated to deliver a top-quality product to internal /external customers. The position reports to the process supervisor w/ primary work schedule of M-F, day shift, with flexibility to work early/ late shift, overtime, and weekends, as needed.

Specific Duties / Responsibilities
- Responsible for safely setting up/ operating / monitoring debone equipment and conveying systems to ensure product flow. Equipment e.g. – bird cutters, x-ray machines, bird loaders, scales, etc.
- Remove/ install blades / other components at beginning / end of shift
- Inspect blades or cutting apparatus to insure good working condition
- Check machines & make appropriate adjustments to maximize yields/ track rework
- Apply skills/ knowledge and work w/maintenance to PM, troubleshoot, service, equipment
- Assist Maintenance in identifying worn parts that need replacement
- Check machines operation and rotations before production start up
- Operate with a safety-first mindset; complete on-going housekeeping to meet food safety standards
- Work within GMP, safety, and USDA guidelines to achieve top quality in a safe work environment
- Spray, clean & clear machines before, during, & after production to ensure flow of quality product
- Properly clean & sanitize components per SSOP before installation & after removal
- Willingly learn new skills, cross train others, and work to improve process flow
- Perform other assigned duties as directed

Skills/Abilities/Attributes
Machine setup and operation experience (required)
- Working knowledge in poultry OR other food processing industry
- Strong mechanical aptitude & experience operating/ troubleshooting equipment
- Solid understanding of food safety compliance (required)
- Self-directed; able to work in fast-paced environment with minimum supervision
- Team player and natural leader w/ good communication / interpersonal skills;
- Lift / move up to 40 lbs.; occasionally 50 lbs.
- Stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, stoop 10 hrs./shift
- Work safely in hot, cold, wet environment w/ varying temperatures (e.g., 35-40 / 100 degrees)
