Prestage Farms is seeking a Land and Nutrient Management Equipment Mechanicto serve as a support person to all land and nutrient management department personnel. They will work closely with land development technicians to provide technical assistance on all irrigation related equipment and maximize efficient production. Prestage Farms is seeking a Land and Nutrient Management Equipment Mechanicto serve as a support person to all land and nutrient management department personnel. They will work closely with land development technicians to provide technical assistance on all irrigation related equipment and maximize efficient production. Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Service and maintain irrigation reels, gasoline motors, diesel pumps, center pivot, and solid set irrigation systems to ensure they are in proper working order
- Respond in a timely manner to breakdowns and work efficiently to minimize downtime
- Maintain a record of service on all irrigation equipment
- Assist in the repair of underground irrigation systems
- Assist in the movement of equipment between farms
- Associate’s degree from a two-year college or technical school preferred
- 2 years of work experience in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Class A CDL License preferred
- Positive attitude and ability to work as part of a team
